Plastics are used in a wide variety of products that encounter food – containers, kitchen appliances, cookware, food processors, packaging, serving utensils, etc. As we move towards a circular economy, the issues of non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) and contamination in recycled plastics mean authorities in the EU and US have raised concerns over safety.
